SERVICE DESCRIPTIONS: THE TOTAL PACKAGES
Insect Total Package
To resolve insect infestations effectively, our first priority is to knock out your most problematic pests. During the initial service, your technician performs a comprehensive property assessment to determine the most effective and low-risk materials based on the specific pests targeted, your property’s environment, and current weather conditions.
We will identify and share any “conducive conditions”—environmental or structural factors that may be contributing to current activity or could lead to future issues—and walk you through our customized treatment strategy and service agreement.
The service includes a thorough brushing of webs from the entire perimeter, focusing on eaves, exterior lighting, and potential insect harborages. We then provide exterior and/or interior treatment to the structure for the control and prevention of insects and arthropods, such as ants, spiders, wasps, and other occasional invaders.
This standard protection targets all problem areas within five feet of the structure. Once complete, your technician will review the work performed and confirm what you can expect moving forward, including whether a follow-up treatment is necessary to break the pest life cycle.
The initial service starts at $449. By opting for a 12-month service agreement, you receive a $150 discount applied at the time of the initial service. Ongoing quarterly protection starts at $149 per treatment. If pest pressure requires monthly servicing to establish control, the price starts at $89. Our goal is your peace of mind. If you see pest activity between your scheduled visits, we are only a phone call away.
Rodent Total Package
Every successful rodent solution begins with a comprehensive property assessment. Your technician will evaluate the exterior perimeter, crawlspace, attic, and garage to identify current activity, nesting sites, and conducive conditions that may be attracting pests. This allows us to determine the specific strategy needed for your home, as every infestation requires an adaptable approach. Your technician will walk you through their findings and discuss their strategy so we are fully aligned on the path forward.
Our primary method for long-term control is exclusion—the process of sealing entry points that could allow rodent entry into your structure. By stopping rodents at the exterior walls where materials like concrete and siding cannot be easily gnawed through, we provide a more durable solution. Your initial service includes up to 30 minutes of standard exclusion work. Your technician will also place traps in discreet locations where activity has been identified within the structure, as well as tamper-resistant rodent stations outside to reduce the exterior rodent pressure around your home. Once the initial visit is complete, your technician will provide a post-service review to summarize the work performed and confirm what you can expect as we resolve the activity.
We return within 5-10 days to ensure our exclusion is holding strong and to follow up on the implementation of control methods for your home.
The initial service starts at $559. By opting for a 12-month service agreement, you receive an immediate $150 discount at the time of your first visit. Due to the unique variables of rodent behavior, we begin all services on a monthly schedule starting at $89 to gain full control, before transitioning to a quarterly frequency, starting at $149, for long-term prevention. Our goal is your peace of mind. If you see pest activity between your scheduled visits, we are only a phone call away.
Rambo Total Pest Package
The Rambo Total Pest Package is our most comprehensive solution, deploying our signature Total Protection defense against both insects and rodents. Because every home is unique, your service begins with an extensive property assessment to identify nesting sites, entry points, and conducive conditions throughout your structure. Your technician will walk you through their findings and discuss their strategy so we are fully aligned on the path forward.
- For rodent protection, we focus on exclusion – sealing entry points to effectively secure your home. This service includes up to 30 minutes of standard exclusion work, discreet internal trapping, and the installation of tamper-resistant exterior stations to reduce overall rodent pressure.
- For problematic insect and arthropod pests, we neutralize concerns by proactively brushing down webs and stinging insect nests from the exterior of the home. We then apply low-risk treatments to these same insect/spider harborage areas for the control and prevention of ants, spiders, wasps, and other invaders.
- Soon after the initial service, we will return to follow up on any active pest issues or concerns, ensure our exclusion is holding strong, and review our implementation methods.
For ongoing support, after each visit, your technician will provide an emailed post-service review to summarize our progress and answer any questions. Our goal is your total peace of mind – if you see pest activity between your scheduled visits, we are only a phone call away.
The initial service starts at $799. By opting for a 12-month service agreement, you receive an immediate $150 discount at the time of your first visit. Due to the variables of pest behavior, we begin this service on a monthly schedule, starting at $109, to gain full control, before transitioning to a quarterly frequency, starting at $169, for long-term prevention.
TARGETED PESTS
Carpenter Ants
Carpenter Ants are a unique threat because of their biological drive to tunnel through wood to expand their colonies. A trail in the kitchen often indicates a satellite nest hidden deep within the structure. Because these ants are social, their presence is a signal that a hidden colony is actively working behind the scenes to expand its footprint in your home.
To resolve the infestation at its source, we leverage the ants’ own social nature. Your technician applies low-risk, non-repellent materials around the foundation and within wall voids that foragers unknowingly carry back to the queen. You may notice a brief increase in activity following the service; this is a positive sign that the colony is reacting to the treatment as the “transfer effect” takes hold.
While this methodical approach typically takes 2 to 3 weeks for full control, it results in a much more durable solution than traditional sprays. By working together to address “conducive conditions” like overhanging vegetation or structural moisture issues, we can eliminate the factors that invited the ants in the first place and secure your home for the long term.
Moisture Ants
Moisture Ants thrive exclusively in damp, decaying wood. Their presence is often a symptom of an underlying water issue within the structure. Because of this behavior, identifying these ants is the first step in uncovering hidden moisture problems that could compromise your structure’s integrity.
To resolve the activity, your technician performs a comprehensive assessment to locate the nesting site and identify the contributing moisture source. We utilize targeted low-risk treatments around the foundation and, when necessary, provide specialized applications within wall voids to neutralize the colony at its source. This tactical approach ensures we are addressing the root of the problem rather than just the surface activity.
The true benefit of this service is the clarity it provides for your home’s maintenance. While we eliminate the pests, your technician will pinpoint the specific “conducive conditions” that need correction. By resolving these moisture issues alongside our treatment, you protect your home’s structure and prevent future infestations from taking root.
Odorous House Ants
Odorous House Ants are a uniquely challenging species to control. Although they are small, they are chemically sensitive with multiple queens to a nest (polygynous). When these ants feel threatened by over-the-counter sprays or other DIY treatment methods, their colonies have the ability to sense the threat and branch out and start multiple new nests in other areas in a process called “budding”. These ants are polydomous, meaning they often have multiple nest sites within a structure. Because of this defensive biology, the goal is to neutralize the colony without them ever knowing we were there.
To outsmart their defenses, we deploy a low-risk, non-repellent treatment strategy. We use specialized baits and liquid materials that ants cannot detect, allowing foragers to unknowingly “transfer” the product to the entire colony—including the brood and queens at the nest sites. Interior treatments typically consist of discreet gel baits that require no vacating of the home, while exterior perimeter treatments create a seamless protection zone. While you may see a temporary increase in activity as ants are drawn to the bait, this is a vital part of the “transfer effect” that ensures total colony elimination.
Because OHA control is a team effort, your cooperation is the key to a pest-free home. To ensure our “Total Protection” strategy is successful, we ask that you follow these professional guidelines:
- Do not use any DIY sprays, baits, or chemicals. If ants are in an intolerable area, simply wipe them up with a damp paper towel. If ants are traveling to and from our bait placements, please allow them to bring those products back to their nest sites.
- Keep your home free of competing food sources and ensure exterior vegetation is trimmed at least two feet away from the structure. This forces ants to travel through our treatment zones.
- It typically takes about two weeks for the full effect of a treatment to take hold. If activity persists beyond this window, we can return to adjust our strategy at no additional charge during your warranty period.
Pavement Ants
Pavement Ants are most commonly found living within the soil beneath sidewalks, patios, and driveways. While their colonies begin outdoors, these ants are opportunistic foragers that enter homes through foundation cracks or concrete slabs in search of sweets, proteins, and pet food. Once they discover a consistent food source, they establish pheromone trails that encourage the rest of the colony to follow, turning a few stray foragers into a persistent indoor problem.
To resolve the infestation, your technician performs a targeted treatment focused on the “cracks and crevices” of paved areas and the perimeter base of your foundation. We utilize low-risk, professional materials designed to intercept ants at their points of entry and neutralize the colony at the source. By focusing on these specific transit zones, we create a defensive barrier that stops the ants before they can transition from your driveway to your kitchen.
For the best results, keeping exterior trash bins sealed and interior floors free of crumbs or pet food removes the primary incentive for ants to return. By combining our precision treatments with these proactive steps, we ensure your home remains protected.
Thatching Ants
Thatching Ants are known for building large, visible debris mounds that protect a complex underground colony. Because these ants are highly territorial and can become aggressive when disturbed, resolving a nest requires a tactical, hands-on approach to ensure the entire population is fully neutralized.
To eliminate the colony, your technician utilizes a specialized strategy that may include excavating the mound to treat the subterranean galleries directly or applying a transferable material that foragers carry deep into the nest’s core. Since these services are labor-intensive and vary significantly by nest size, your technician will provide a precise bid after inspection.
While we can only legally treat mounds on your land, we can provide specialized “fence-line barriers” to intercept foragers migrating from neighboring areas when necessary. This ensures that even if the source is off-site, your immediate outdoor living space remains protected.
The initial service starts at $299 for the first nest, and then $50 for each additional nest to be treated. Due to the varying size and depth of thatching ant mounds, our technicians may need to adjust the pricing on-site to ensure the most effective results.
Please note: While Thatching Ants typically remain away from the structure, we do offer an Insect Total Package service option that we could add at any time to create a defensive barrier to keep other insect and spider pests out year-round! See Insect Total Package for further details.
Cockroaches
German Cockroaches are among the most resilient pests in the industry, often developing high levels of resistance to traditional insecticides. Because they reproduce rapidly and hide deep within the framework of kitchens and bathrooms, an established population requires a strategy that goes beyond simple surface sprays.
Our comprehensive control strategy leverages two specific cockroach behaviors: necrophagy (eating their dead) and coprophagy (eating feces). When a roach consumes our specialized bait, it turns their remains and waste toxic to the rest of the colony. This creates a continuous cycle where a single feeding can neutralize generations of roaches. We utilize a rotation of diverse materials to bypass insecticide resistance, growth regulators to stop reproduction, and place specialized monitors to track population movement and verify our progress. Unlike traditional methods, our process requires zero preparation—you do not need to empty your cabinets or vacate your home.
Our Initial Cockroach Service consists of three targeted appointments scheduled roughly 14 days apart.
- Appointment 1: We perform a high-level assessment, deploy specialized resistance-breaking baits, and install insect monitors.
- Appointment 2: We inspect the monitors to track the population reduction and determine the success of the initial treatment. We rotate bait materials to prevent any chemical aversion from developing, address remaining “hot spots,” and then transition into monthly service frequency until control is established.
We do not provide additional treatments outside of this prescribed schedule. We will need to coordinate for interior access each service. Recurring monthly services are encouraged for optimal control.
While our science handles the heavy lifting, we need your help to ensure the fastest results. To ensure our baits remain the primary food source, we require the following actions:
- Eliminate Food Competition: Keep all food items in airtight containers and rotate stored goods (First In, First Out). Clean up spills immediately, wash dishes after every meal, and take out the trash every single night.
- Regularly Clean Environment: Keep food and food debris inaccessible to the roaches by cleaning regularly. Minimize clutter and densely packed storage areas.
- Protect the Treatment: Do not disturb, move, or throw away any traps or baits, even if they appear full or depleted. Do not use any DIY sprays or “natural” remedies, as these will interfere with our professional materials.
Our Cockroach Initial Service is $449, which covers the initial service, the follow up visit, and the materials required to break the infestation cycle. Following these initial visits, we transition to monthly services for $89 until control is established. Continued activity throughout this process is normal as populations are impacted by our treatments. By working together, we can reclaim your home from even the most stubborn infestations.
Rodents
Rodents are among the most resourceful pests on the planet. They are highly intelligent, habitual, and neophobic—meaning they are naturally cautious of new objects like traps or baits. Because they are biologically drawn to the warmth of our structures, your home is a constant target for their “probing” activity.
Rambo Total Pest Control treats rodents as a specialized discipline. Our strategy focuses on a dual-phase approach: neutralizing the current population and establishing a defensive perimeter. We outsmart their survival instincts by identifying established travel paths and using behavior-based materials to bypass their natural caution. We move beyond simple trapping to create an environment that rodents cannot thrive in. To partner with these efforts, please help us manage the following environmental and structural factors:
- Trim all trees and bushes at least four feet away from the roofline and two feet away from the foundation to reduce pest attraction and improve our ability to inspect.
- Remove dense foliage, woodpiles, and clutter adjacent to the home. Removing the harborages which provide rodents safety makes your home an unappealing target.
- Secure trash bins and limit bird feeders or fallen fruit. Available food acts as a magnet that draws rodents from the community to your property.
- Leave all traps and stations exactly where your technician has placed them. These locations are chosen based on identified rodent traffic patterns.
By combining our professional exclusion and treatment with these environmental adjustments, we ensure your home is not only rodent-free today but remains a hard target for future populations. For a detailed breakdown of our process, see the [Rodent Total Package Service Description].
Crawlspace Access Doors
Some structures require that a new crawlspace access door and frame be built in order to successfully keep rodents out of a structure. The standard cost to include a new treated lumber/cedar frame and ¾” plywood door, secured with bolt latches, is $449. Some crawlspace access doors require additional attention so these prices are subject to change once we perform our site assessment. Your technician can easily provide you with pictures of our crawl door design, which is adaptable to be custom-built for almost any crawlspace entry area. Please note that these custom-built doors are not painted and the plywood door is not sealed. If the crawlspace door is exposed to the elements, we do recommend that you seal and/or paint it.
Pre-Demolition Rodent Abatement Services
Many cities throughout Washington now require a certified rodent abatement program before any construction demolition can be finalized. Our Pre-Demolition Rodent Abatement Service satisfies these local health guidelines and will provide you with the Abatement Certification necessary to commence your project without delay. This professional service includes a comprehensive site assessment and the installation of up to four exterior-grade, tamper-resistant bait stations to effectively neutralize the rodent population before demolition begins.
Because permit timelines can be unpredictable, we provide ongoing maintenance at 30-day intervals to ensure the site remains compliant until the project is cleared. The initial service is $299, with monthly maintenance at $89. If the site scale requires more than the standard four stations, additional units can be deployed for $25 each.
Payment for the initial service is required at the time of scheduling, with a credit card held on file for automated monthly billing. Once you provide a cancellation notice, we will perform a final equipment retrieval at no additional charge and issue your official certification.
Spiders
Spider activity can be a significant source of stress. These invaders gravitate toward structural gaps, eaves, and sheltered corners to establish harborages. Because they tend to stay tucked away in hard-to-reach areas, visible webs are often a signal that your home has become a preferred site for their activity. Our goal is to disrupt this cycle through a strategic, scientific approach that targets their environment.
Our standard Spider control service consists of brushing webs (within reach of our extension pole) from the exterior eaves, porch, light fixtures, and other spider harborages identified on the exterior of the structure, then treating those same areas as well as the foundation/perimeter with a residual insecticide. This brushing technique causes the spiders to leave their harborages in order to increase their exposure to our treatment. We can also include with our initial service a localized application, or other control measures, inside the structure to combat any interior populations that may already be in place.
To fully prepare for the treatment ahead of time, please:
- Exterior: Clear a 1–2 foot “buffer zone” of leaves, foliage, and stored items around the foundation.
- Interior: (If interior treatments are taking place). Interior treatments can vary from one situation to another. Please clear floors of items and move furniture slightly away from walls where practical. You can also direct your technician to any areas of concern while they are on-site.
- Safety: Keep people and pets away from treated areas until product has been allowed to dry. If any interior insecticide treatment is performed, all people and pets must vacate for two hours.
- Cleaning: Complete all pressure washing or carpet cleaning prior to our visit to ensure the protective barrier remains intact.
PLEASE NOTE:
Obtaining satisfactory levels of spider control is notoriously difficult to impact with a single application. True control is obtained through consistent, recurring de-webbing of the home and multiple treatments over a period of time. A single service will reduce activity, but the level of control most people will expect comes with time and ongoing care.
If you are experiencing an active ant infestation alongside spider activity, we must fully resolve the ant problem before targeting spiders directly. While ant treatments provide some secondary spider control, the specialized materials required for spiders are highly disruptive to our ant protocols. Using them prematurely can cause ant colonies to scatter, worsening the infestation and significantly extending the time required to achieve total elimination.
Stinging Insects
Stinging insects, such as wasps, hornets, and yellowjackets, are highly opportunistic and often choose the eaves and structural gaps of your home for their nesting sites. Our stinging insect (wasps, hornets, and/or yellowjackets) service includes treatment of any nests attached to your home or nests adjacent to your home (within 5 feet). If there are additional nests out in the yard, there may be additional charges associated with those services. Any nest that can be removed from the home will be removed to the best of our ability. Some parts of the nest may only be removed through scraping that can damage the siding and/or paint. We will not remove these parts of the nest to prevent damaging your home.
PLEASE NOTE:
Stinging insects will be foraging for building supplies and food during the spring and summer months. Flying activity may be experienced a considerable distance away from their nesting location. You may experience this kind of activity even when the nest is not on your property. This foraging behavior will cause stinging insects to hover around your eaves, plants, and your lawn. The materials we use on your home will help reduce new nests from being built, but it will not stop these foraging behaviors. If there is no nest to treat, we are unable to stop flying and foraging activity on and around your property.
Stored Product Pests
Stored Product Pests, or “Pantry Pests,” are typically introduced to the home via infested dry goods like flour, grains, and pet food. While factory seals may appear to be intact, a closer inspection of all stored food will be necessary to find the infested product. Sometimes, the only indication of an infested sealed container is a hole the size of a pencil tip. Until that product is identified and removed, the infestation will persist. Our treatment is intended to help reduce live activity and prevent secondary infestations.
Your technician will conduct a collaborative inspection with you to identify and discard containers showing signs of activity. Once storage areas are cleared of all stored items, we execute a crack-and-crevice treatment across shelves, walls, and cupboards—extending the application as far as the activity dictates. We may also access the attic or crawlspace to ensure no hidden harborages remain – please ensure access to these spaces are unobstructed prior to our arrival. Insect monitors or pheromone traps may also be used to help with continuing control as needed.
Prior to our arrival:
- Remove all food, dishes and other items from the areas to be treated, and place them inside the refrigerator or in another room. Cover them with a bed sheet or plastic. During this process, inspect each package for signs of insect activity and discard suspicious items.
- Pick up items from the floor in the areas to be treated and move them to another room.
- All people and pets must vacate prior to the start of the service and remain out for at least 2 hours after the treatment is complete.
- Upon your return, wash any horizontal food preparation surfaces like countertops and cutting boards with soap and water.
This collaborative approach disrupts the life cycle at its root, providing a more effective solution than a simple spray. You may see a temporary increase in activity for 2–4 weeks as the pests react to the treatment. Leave our insect monitors in place and call to report if activity is persisting. To prevent future “hitchhikers” from establishing a foothold, we recommend utilizing airtight containers, cleaning up any spills quicky, and practicing a “first-in, first-out” stock rotation for all dry goods.
Subterranean Termites
Subterranean Termites are the primary species responsible for significant structural damage in Washington. These termites live in central nests deep in the soil and can forage over 100 feet in any direction, detecting wood through thermal footprints and chemical signals.
Our service is designed to eliminate Subterranean Termites that are infesting your home while also providing lasting protection for years to come. We utilize non-repellent, slow-acting materials that termites cannot detect or avoid. As termites crawl through the treated zone, they unknowingly pick up the material and transmit it to the rest of the colony through feeding and contact. This slow-acting design ensures the material reaches the heart of the nest before taking effect. Because this process relies on natural termite behavior, it is common to see live activity for a month or more after the initial treatment as the colony is systematically neutralized.
To secure your home, we create a continuous defensive line where the structure meets the soil:
- Trenching & Injection: In soil areas, we dig a small trench (4″ wide by 2″ deep) along the foundation to treat the ground directly. In areas with dense foliage or roots, we use specialized rods to inject the material every twelve inches.
- Slab Access: For concrete areas like patios or garages, we drill nickel-sized holes every twelve inches to access the soil beneath. These are professionally sealed with concrete patch afterward.
- Interior Treatments: Some situations will also call for treatments to take place inside the home or garage. Please speak with your technician for the details of any interior treatments.
This intensive structural defense is backed by a 5-year retreatment warranty. You will receive detailed records of the treatment, which are vital assets when it comes time to sell your home. All of this is done to create a barrier around your home where if Subterranean Termites want to get to your home, they will have to cross the barrier.
Our technicians are highly trained and licensed to ensure this work is done with safety as the priority. Not just your safety, but the safety of the environment, water sources, edible plants, fruit bearing trees, pets, underground drainage, underground pipes/lines, and the home itself. Should you have any concerns, please discuss them with your technician.
Before the treatment takes place, please do the following:
- Any storage up against the house will need to be moved 12ft or more to allow space to work.
- Any pet toys, feeding/watering dishes, or children’s toys should be removed from the treatment area.
- Please leave a space in your driveway or at the street directly in front of your home available for our truck and tow trailer. In busy metro areas, please secure a place early in the morning for our vehicle. If we cannot park in front of the property, we cannot service the home.
- Please make sure there is active power and water to the property,
- Please make sure any prep work that the technician has deemed necessary has been completed. Sending photos of the prep work will help us greatly to verify the areas are ready to go. You can text them to your technician or email them to scheduling@rambopest.com
- During the day of the treatment, please keep all central air or HVAC turned off and all doors and windows closed. If your treatment is during a heatwave, you may want to make plans to go somewhere else while the work is being done.
- The treatment can be noisy. If you work from home or have important meetings that day, you will want to consider doing that work at another location.
Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Wood Boring Beetles
Wood Boring Beetles (including Anobiid, Lyctid, and others) are often “hidden” threats, as the insects themselves are rarely visible on the surface. Because these beetles spend the majority of their lives—sometimes decades—in a larval stage feeding deep within the wood, our investigation relies on structural evidence. We identify the species based on emergence hole size, wood type, and moisture content to determine if the species is capable of reinfestation before developing a tactical control plan.
Because it is not feasible to treat the inner core of a wood member where larvae feed, our strategy focuses on controlling the potential for reinfestation. All damage is done during the larval stage. Eventually, the larva pupates near the surface and the adult beetle chews its way out.
To address these pests, we apply a specialized borate product (Bora Care) to all available sides of the wood (joists, beams, posts, etc.). As the adult beetle chews its exit hole, it ingests a lethal dose of the product, effectively eliminating the possibility of a generational reinfestation.
Many infestations occur in damp crawlspaces. One common driver of beetle damage is often a missing or poorly installed vapor barrier. Correcting this moisture issue is essential to making the environment inhospitable for future generations.
To provide a thorough treatment, we must have access to all exposed sides of the wood. Please ensure the following before our arrival:
- Insulation Removal: All insulation must be removed from between the floor joists to expose the wood members. This can be performed by the homeowner or a qualified contractor.
- Surface Readiness: Our borate treatment is only viable on bare wood. If the wood has been painted, stained, or sealed, it must be sanded down to the raw wood or replaced by the client prior to our service.
- Drying Time: The applied product must dry completely before insulation is reinstalled, which may take several days.
Because there is no treatment that can eliminate the larvae already deep inside the wood, you will likely see new emergence holes for years to come. This is a normal part of the biological process as the current generation matures and exits. While the timeline makes traditional warranties difficult to define, the combination of a proper vapor barrier, corrected moisture conditions, and our precision treatment is designed to ensure the infestation does not continue.
General Purpose Pest Assessment
Our General Purpose Pest Assessment is, a service we schedule when the target pest has not been determined based on the initial phone conversation with our office staff. This service charge is $175 and it will apply toward any pest control work you decide to have us perform on your structure within 30 days. Your technician will inspect the areas of concern (which may include some or all of the following: crawlspace, attic, basement, exterior perimeter and/or interior). You will be informed of any conducive conditions that we come across, which often contribute to the pest issue. We will also identify any target pest species that need attention, and provide a written proposal for an appropriate pest control plan to fix the issue. This service has proven very valuable in many unusual situations. If we do not find any pest issues that need our attention, we will at least have provided you with peace of mind knowing that a professional has inspected your home.
***Under no circumstances should this service be confused with a “Complete Wood Destroying Organism Inspection”, “Termite Report”, “Form 99”, or other inspection required for a real estate or mortgage transaction.*** We do not provide that service and encourage you to seek out a professional company specializing in these types of reports if that is what you need.
We may need to enter the attic and/or crawlspace as part of this service, please make sure any items blocking access to these spaces are moved prior to our arrival.
Hemipteran Pests (Stink Bugs and Seed Bugs)
Stink bugs and seed bugs enter homes in the Fall to overwinter in attics and wall voids—then show up inside in the Spring. By the time you see them, it’s already too late to fully solve the problem. Treating when they show up in the Spring can cause them to retreat back indoors, or die in the wall voids and attics, which can cause very challenging secondary issues with pests like Carpet Beetles. To properly treat this pest, we need to treat BEFORE they enter the home, so we perform these targeted treatments from late August through October. We use a specific material for these applications and target specific zones on the structures to prevent these True Bugs from entering. This is a preventative approach rather than reactive, which will result in significant reductions of their numbers showing up in the Spring, but to be clear, it will NOT eliminate them 100%. Our starting price for this service is $399 for homes up to 2500 Sq Ft.
While we cannot warranty for Stink Bug activity, if you are interested in keeping general insect levels down around your home year-round, please review our Insect Total Package details.
SERVICES NOT PROVIDED BY RAMBO TOTAL PEST CONTROL
Carpet Beetles
Carpet Beetles are versatile feeders that can breed on a wide variety of materials, making them exceptionally difficult to control. Because these pests are scavengers, the infestation is tied directly to a specific food source. Whether it is a forgotten bag of wool, pet hair in a wall void, or a food product in a cabinet false bottom, the problem cannot be resolved until that source is located and physically removed. We have made the professional decision to not offer Carpet Beetle services under our standard packages for several reasons:
- Locating a carpet beetle infestation source can take hours—and sometimes years—as they often root in inaccessible areas like wall voids or false cabinet bottoms. Even a professional inspection can end without finding the source.
- Unlike other pests, an insecticide application cannot resolve a Carpet Beetle infestation. Without finding and removing the biological source, any chemical treatment is largely ineffective.
- Due to the high labor cost of these intensive inspections and the high probability that a source remains undiscovered, we believe it is not in our clients’ best interest to charge for a service that has a low success rate for total elimination.
- Our goal is to provide you with the most effective strategy for your home, even when that means advising against a professional service.
For these reasons, we developed a self-guided Do-It-Yourself Inspection Sheet to see if the problem can be resolved without expensive professional assistance. This sheet outlines the specific steps you can take to find and remove the infested food source. By following our DIY guide, you can focus your efforts on the only method that works—source removal—ensuring your home is protected without unnecessary expense.
Please ask us our Do-It-Yourself Carpet Beetle Inspection Sheet to begin your assessment.
Dampwood Termites
In the Pacific Northwest, Dampwood Termites are a common sight, but they almost never require a material application to resolve. Unlike other species, these termites require constant, high levels of moisture to survive, and the wood they infest must be heavily saturated. Because of this biological dependency, the solution is environmental rather than chemical.
Dampwood Termite infestations are corrected by identifying and fixing the source of excess moisture. Once the moisture source is removed and the wood is allowed to dry out, the colony cannot survive. These termites are easily identified by their large size and the small, loose pellets of “frass” (droppings) they leave inside the galleries of damaged wood. Because the moisture levels required for an infestation usually damage the wood beyond the point of salvage, we recommend that infested sections be removed and replaced with sound lumber.
By focusing on moisture control, you solve the root cause of the problem permanently. Our goal is to provide you with the expert identification needed to avoid unnecessary treatments, ensuring you invest your resources only where they are truly required for structural security.
Flies
Flies come in a staggering number of variations. Although the many different species look differently, behave differently, and feed on different food sources, their presence is almost always for the same reason. There is a food source attracting them, feeding them, sometimes housing them, and allowing them to reproduce. You can fog, spray, trap, and bait flies to the end of times, however; if the food source is not dealt with, their presence will persist. Applying materials to alleviate fly activity is only dealing with a symptom. It is a band-aid for a cut that needs a stitch.
Although we do not provide fly services, we can often help you track down the problem so that you can resolve the issue at little to no cost. The key to tracking down the source is knowing the fly you are dealing with. If you can capture an in-focus, up close picture of the top and/or side of the fly, we can often narrow down what kind of fly it is, and the steps you can take to correct the issue. Please feel free to send us an email with your information, what you are seeing, where you are seeing it, and any pictures you can get. Send them to scheduling@rambopest.com and we will see if we can offer you some no charge assistance.
