BIRD IDENTIFICATION
The most common bird species we treat are Starlings.
OUR CONTROL PROCESS
Bird control can vary considerably due to many different factors. The species of bird, nesting/roosting locations, and construction style of your home make every bird service unique.
We typically center our bird control programs around exclusion. Our Bird Control Service involves an inspection of the structure to determine all open entry points, weakened possible entry points, and nesting/roosting locations. Our goal is to close up the access points the birds use to gain entry into a structure, and remove perching, roosting, or nesting locations against the exterior.
We use bird spikes, metal screening, hardware netting, and more to make your home unattractive for the birds, while keeping an aesthetically pleasing look. Each situation is very different, and we accommodate your needs and interests into every program we set up. If there is safe access, we can offer removal of a nest as well.
There are a few federally-protected species of birds that we cannot exclude or remove, and do NOT provide services for, including: Woodpeckers, Flickers, Mud/Barn Swallows. There are some scare tactic materials that can be purchased online, which we suggest you consider as a solution for protected species.
Caution!
Bird nests and droppings are hazardous to your health. Dried bird droppings can become easily airborne while cleaning or removing a bird nest, and they are the perfect environment for many dangerous fungi. Histoplasmosis and Cryptococcus are a few examples of damaging (and possibly fatal) fungus infections spread through the inhalation of bird droppings. Anyone cleaning or removing bird nests should always wear appropriate respiratory protection.
